Luckily, he has an appointment in three weeks to get checked. And I prefer to sleep with white noise! I tune into the noise, turn off my busy brain (in theory ... that's the key to my insomnia), and fall asleep.

Just noticed your link to my blog - hi there! Bonk your sweetie over the head and take him into a sleep clinic. :)

You don't have to be overweight - as far as I understand, it's mostly a matter of having just a little too small an airway and a little too much sleep-time relaxation in the throat muscles. Weight makes it worse, but I've met a few pretty slim and active people who have sleep apnea nonetheless.

As a bonus, I've heard from my wife that the white noise of my CPAP machine blowing air helps her sleep. A pretty big switch from snoring!
